The definitive guide to the Worlds Red Light districts

How to get from Phuket Airport to Patong Beach

Phuket International Airport is a small and easy to navigate airport, once passport control is completed, bags collected and customs navigated you are now in the arrivals hall and only 1 hour away from one of the best Red Light Districts in the World. So how do you easily get from Phuket Airport to Patong Beach?

Pre-Booked Airport Transfer

Always the easiest way to travel from the airport to Patong and usually the cleanest and safest ride too. Transfer times take between 45 minutes to just over an hour in the quieter hours of the day. Your driver will meet you outside arrivals and whisk you off to your hotel, no hussle about booking a better hotel, just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride in comfort.

Airport Transfer Counter

Taxi’s are available from the counter in the arrivals area of the International or Domestic terminal to Patong Beach costing between 800 – 1200 Baht depending on the size of the vehicle. The drivers usually speak some form of English and will expect a tip of between 150 – 200 Baht for the ride. If you are staying at a small hotel please be sure to print the address or a small map as the local knowledge of the drivers is not always good and sometimes results in driving around the one-way traffic system a few times until you come to your final destination.

Minibus

Often the cheapest option for those who are on a very tight budget and without much/any luggage, the minibus costs 200 Baht and will take significantly longer due to multiple en-route stops to your destination. The a little tight when fully loaded and often a wait of 20-30 minutes may happen at the airport until the minibus fills up with passengers.
